Professor, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University

Jianping Wu is a Professor at Tsinghua University and serves as the Director of the Tsinghua-Cambridge-MIT Future Transport Research Center. He is also the Director of the Autonomous Driving and Intelligent Transportation Research and Development Center at the Shenzhen Institute of Tsinghua University. Additionally, he is a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering and a Distinguished Professor under the Chinese Ministry of Education's "Changjiang Scholars" program. He is recognized as a top-tier talent under Shenzhen's Pengcheng Peacock Program. Professor Wu received his Ph.D. from the University of Southampton in the UK in 1994 and was appointed as a Chair Professor at the University of Southampton in 2006. From 2003 to 2010, he served as the Director of the China-UK Government Joint Intelligent Transportation Center.

Professor Wu is a member of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, a member of the WFEO (World Federation of Engineering Organizations) Committee on Engineering and the Environment, and the Project Director of the WFEO's "Best Engineering Project to Mitigate Global Climate Change." He is an expert in setting and evaluating priority areas for energy research under the UN's International Energy Agency (IEA EGRD), a transportation expert for the World Bank, an executive member of the International Committee on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Benefits Evaluation, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), and the inaugural Fellow of the Chinese Society for Simulation. He also serves as the Vice President of the Chinese Society for Simulation, an executive member of the Chinese Urban Research Society, and an executive member of the Autonomous Driving Committee of the China Highway and Transportation Society. He is the Chairman of the Autonomous Driving and Simulation Testing Committee of the Chinese Society for Simulation and a member of the Intelligent Airport Expert Committee of the Chinese Ministry of Transportation. Additionally, he is an advisor to cities such as Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanning, and Haikou.

His main research areas include: 1) Autonomous Driving and Intelligent Transportation, 2) Traffic Modeling and Simulation, and 3) Smart Cities and Future Transportation. He holds over 20 original technologies and Chinese and international invention patents. Professor Wu owns all intellectual property rights and software copyrights to the microscopic traffic simulation software FLOWSIM. He has published over 350 papers in international academic journals and has been invited to deliver more than 30 keynote academic lectures at world-renowned universities such as MIT, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Imperial College London, UCLA, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Delft University of Technology.

清华大学教授,清华-剑桥-麻省理工 “未来交通”中心主任,俄罗斯工程院(外籍)院士,教育部“长江学者”特聘教授,中国科协海智专家。主要研 究领域:1)交通仿真,2)智能驾驶,3)智慧城市等。拥有无人驾驶、交通仿真 等相关发明专利 25 项,获国际及国内省部级以上科研成果奖 15 项。他和团队创 建了中国首个动态交通仿真平台,使交通仿真从离线评价工具蜕变为交通在线管 控和决策的工具;他和团队打造的城市仿真技术使数字孪生能够真正为城市动态 优化管理服务;他和团队发明的虚实结合无人驾驶测试平台将使无人驾驶汽车产 业提前数年实现万亿级的市场规模。吴教授是中国科协第十届全国委员会委员,联合国世界工程组织(WFEO) 中国委员会委员,英国工程技术学会会士(FIET),中国仿真学会首届会士,中国 公路学会自动驾驶工作委员会常务理事,中国仿真学会常务理事,交通部民航局 四型机场专家委员会委员,浙江省大湾区建设院士专家顾问团成员。
